FVFD Push-In Ceramony

The Fuquay-Varina Fire Department's newest fire engines will be placed into service with a traditional push-in ceremony.
The "push in" tradition dates back to the days of horse-drawn fire equipment in the 1800s. Upon returning to the station, because horses were unable to back in, firefighters had to unhitch the equipment and push it into the bay.
Although manually "pushing in" engines is no longer necessary, the tradition lives on! Fire departments hold push-in ceremonies when placing new engines into service to honor the history of fire services.
Join the Fuquay-Varina Fire Department as they place four new Spartan Pumpers into service on April 10 at 5:00 pm.

Their unique approach focuses on quality over quantity, providing each dog with personalized care, training, and lots of love in a home setting until they find their forever family.

Pet Vaccination Clinic

The Spay Neuter Vet Clinic of the Sandhills will host a low-cost vaccination clinic on Saturday, October 25th from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce. Services will include vaccines, heartworm testing, microchipping, deworming, and more. Distemper/parvo vaccines will be free, thanks to Petco Love.
This is a first-come, first-served event, but pre-registration is highly recommended to reduce wait times. You can register here:

After submitting the form, you’ll see pricing for each service. Once your pre-registration form is processed (up to 2 weeks), you’ll receive a payment request by email. Pre-registration closes 48 hours before the clinic.
Cats must arrive in secure individual carriers. Dogs must be leashed, and reactive dogs should be muzzled. Please bring help if needed or be prepared to keep pets in your vehicle until it’s your turn. Staff or volunteers will bring cats inside immediately to minimize stress from being around dogs. Dogs will wait outside with their owners. If your dog is highly reactive and cannot be safely muzzled, this event may not be the right fit.
These are high-volume clinics, with over 150 pets expected. Plan for a wait time of approximately 1.5 hours if you pre-register and pre-pay, and up to 3 hours without pre-registration.
Please be patient and courteous. Staff and volunteers are working hard to help as many pets as possible.
Rude or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
